Public Affairs at K2 & Company

People-powered strategy. Policy-focused results.

Power doesn’t move on its own. It comes from people who are engaged, organized, and motivated to act. Success in the legislature, at the ballot box, or in the media is determined by how well you activate the voices that care about your issue and help them be heard.

K2 & Company’s Public Affairs team works across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, North Dakota, and South Dakota, helping organizations navigate city halls, state capitols, regulatory agencies, and federal policy conversations. We understand how people, politics, and advocacy intersect and how that interplay determines whether an issue advances or stalls.

What We Do

Public Affairs That Builds Momentum and Delivers Outcomes

Advocacy Strategy & Planning

Every successful public affairs effort starts with a clear plan. We develop customized advocacy strategies that align goals, messengers, timelines, and tactics to move your issue forward.

Coalition Building & Management

We bring together diverse stakeholders—businesses, associations, advocates, and community leaders—to build durable coalitions that strengthen credibility and expand influence.

We activate advocates, community leaders, and trusted messengers to engage elected officials and policymakers at every level, ensuring decisions are informed by real-world impact, not just politics.

Legislative Strategy & Execution

From city councils to state legislatures to federal engagement, we help clients anticipate challenges, engage decision-makers early, and execute smart strategies across complex policy environments.

Press Engagement & Storytelling

Building influence in politics means navigating and winning in a diverse and ever-changing media landscape. From influential opinion editorials and podcast interviews, to helping reporters understand why your issue matters, K2 has the media relationships and know-how to grow influence through earned and paid media.

Media Training & Strategic Preparation

Strong coverage starts long before a reporter calls. We prepare spokespeople through targeted media training and message development so they can navigate interviews, background conversations, and high-stakes moments with confidence, clarity, and credibility.

Our Approach

Sustained engagement. Multi-level strategy.

We begin by understanding your issue, your stakeholders, and the political environment surrounding it, whether that means a local ordinance, a statewide policy debate, or a federal regulatory question. From there, we build a public affairs roadmap that integrates advocacy, coalition-building, and communications over time.

Public affairs is rarely won in a single meeting or a single session. It requires consistency, credibility, and the ability to engage across jurisdictions and decision-makers.
