At K2, when we are all working on many projects and clients, there’s no single metric that defines a successful year. Sometimes it’s a moment when a story finally lands. Sometimes it’s a policy that never moves forward because the right voices showed up at the right time. Sometimes it’s quieter: systems running smoothly, organizations growing steadily, and leaders having the support they need to keep going.
Across political communications, strategic communications, public affairs, and fundraising, our team helped clients navigate complex environments, reach the audiences that matter, and turn strategy into action.
Here’s what that work looked like in practice.
Telling the Right Stories, the Right Way
In strategic communications, we focused less on volume and more on precision.
In 2025, our team secured more than 90 earned media placements across broadcast, print, and digital outlets, along with 10 op-eds, including a syndicated piece in a major metropolitan newspaper. We supported issue education, campaigns, and event-driven media tours with 10+ television appearances, and reinforced key narratives through an additional 50 earned media mentions.
Much of this work happened in complex spaces (health care, infrastructure, and data-driven policy) where credibility and context matter as much as headlines. Our role was to help clients show up informed, prepared, and consistent, even when the issues were anything but simple.
Turning Advocacy Into Outcomes
Public affairs work often lives in the space between visibility and influence.
Over the year, we helped publish 50+ op-eds and letters to the editor across the country, secured dozens of media interviews, and activated more than 100 advocates across key issue areas. Our team maintained active engagement in five Midwest states, leveraging strong relationships with policymakers, associations, businesses, and grassroots leaders.
That groundwork led to tangible results, including successful outcomes at the Minnesota State Capitol, where proposals that would have cost clients and taxpayers millions annually were ultimately stopped.
Progress doesn’t always make headlines, but it makes a difference.
Building Stronger Organizations From the Inside Out
Fundraising and association management are about more than dollars raised. They’re about trust, systems, and sustainability.
This year, our team led 960+ fundraising calls and coordinated more than 100 events, raising $4.9 million from over 12,000 funders while expanding donor bases across every client. We supported high-touch engagement through donor outreach, grant proposals, Zooms, and mailings that reached more than 132,000 supporters.
Behind the scenes, we helped keep organizations running smoothly, supporting 65 board meetings, filing all required 990s, maintaining clean CRM data, and ensuring every client passed their audits. Growth only works when the foundation is solid.
Looking ahead…What ties all of this together is intention. Strategy without execution goes nowhere. Execution without strategy burns out fast.
This year reaffirmed what we believe at K2 & Company: when thoughtful planning meets disciplined follow-through, organizations don’t just stay visible; they move forward.
And that’s the work we’re committed to continuing.
