My name is Kara, and I am thrilled to join K2 & Company as a Communications Specialist in the Political Communications department, helping our clients broaden their influence and strengthen their public profile. Additionally, I will keep clients informed about local, state, and federal news events to ensure they are prepared for each development.
I was born and raised in a small town south of Detroit, where I attended school until heading to DC for college. I am currently a rising senior at Georgetown University studying Government on a Pre-Law track. At school, I work as a server at a family-owned Italian restaurant, at the front desk of a hot yoga studio, and have the honor of being one of the caretakers for Georgetown’s mascot, Jack the Bulldog.
Throughout my life, I have been deeply immersed in politics, both personally and professionally. On the personal side, my dad ran for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 27th District in 2016 and 2022, in which I was heavily involved in the media and speaking at events. I also had the opportunity to work with Congressman John James during his first Senate campaign and then served as a legislative intern for him in Washington, DC, during the fall of 2023 and 2024.
When I’m not studying or working, I’m most likely trying out a new restaurant or coffee shop in DC or Detroit. I also enjoy going on long walks, trying new workout classes, and spending time with friends and family. Dogs, pasta, country music, and sweet treats are the way to my heart, too! I’m excited to work with you all!
