There’s nothing like the beginning of a new year. It’s a chance to reset, start fresh, and look ahead with renewed energy. Even if you’re not big on rigid New Year’s resolutions, January has a way of offering a clean slate and a natural pause to reflect on what worked, what didn’t, and what you want to do differently moving forward.

In our line of work, the new year isn’t just symbolic—it’s practical. It’s when campaigns reset, organizations sharpen priorities, nonprofits plan for the year ahead, and teams take an honest look at what needs to evolve to move forward stronger.

At K2 & Company, we don’t think resolutions need to be flashy to matter. Sometimes they’re about getting clearer on what matters most. Sometimes they’re about focus, balance, or letting go of things that no longer serve the work, or the people doing it.

As we head into the year ahead, members of our team are taking a moment to reflect on what they’re committing to personally and professionally:

  • Chelsea Thompson: More new adventures in 2026 and adding some new countries to my travel list.
  • Alex Saunders: Get back into a good workout schedule to get into better shape and take part in more volunteer opportunities.
  • Cassie Hamburg: Read 1 book a month. To help with accountability, my girlfriends and I started a monthly book club!
  • Justin Giorgio: Push myself out of my comfort zone personally and professionally in 2026. Also prioritize better sleep!
  • Allison Housley: Do a better job of shopping local and also read a book.
  • Kristen Kukowski: Read one book a month, get back to yoga weekly, and optimize my board commitments.

If one of your goals this year is clearer communication, stronger fundraising, more effective advocacy, or finally putting a real strategy behind your efforts, we’d love to connect. The start of the year is one of the best times to set the tone for what’s ahead, and you don’t have to do it alone!
