My name is Megan and I am excited to join the K2 & Company team as an Account Executive working in Fundraising and Events.
I grew up in Eagan, Minnesota but always strived to go to college in a warmer climate. I received a full ride athletic scholarship to run track at The University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in journalism and a business minor.
Being an athlete has been my identity since I could walk and it is something that has truly enriched my life. My experience as a Division I student-athlete taught me how to overcome obstacles while properly managing my time. It also helped me become goal oriented, determined and confident.
Following graduation I decided to continue my running career in hopes of qualifying for the Olympic Trials in 2020. I spontaneously moved to Phoenix, Arizona in late 2019 to train with a professional team. Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic put a huge wrench in my plan. I then moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to train with a different coach. Despite not ultimately reaching my goals, I am glad I took this leap of faith to pursue a professional running career because it helped me grow stronger as a person, gain independence and discover what I really want out of life.
Additionally, in my time since graduation I have worked at different country clubs around the US where I helped coordinate and execute large holidays and events. This sparked an interest in me and has developed my passion for event management. I love interior design and making sure everything is aesthetically pleasing. I am thrilled that K2 is branching out into the event space and I believe I will soon be able to make a positive impact.
In my free time I love trying new restaurants, going to sporting events and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the team soon.
